If you are receiving the message “No SimpleSENCE were detected” while trying to pair to your sensor, then it is most likely because one or more options are not turned on in your mobile device’s Bluetooth settings. Follow the directions below to update Bluetooth settings and allow your mobile device to pair with your sensor:
Bluetooth must be enabled in one or two different locations, depending on what type of mobile device you are using:
- Bluetooth must be turned on in your mobile device’s Bluetooth settings.
- Bluetooth must be allowed in the SimpleSENCE app settings.
To check if Bluetooth is turned on for your mobile device:
- Open settings on your mobile device
- Look for the “Bluetooth” option near the top, then select it
- Make sure Bluetooth is toggled on (toggle button will be green when it is on) - if it is not on (toggle button is grey), then press the toggle button once to turn on Bluetooth for your mobile device
To allow Bluetooth in SimpleSENCE app settings:
- Open settings on your mobile device
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen where all the apps on your mobile device are listed
- Find the SimpleSENCE app in this list and select it - this will take you to the settings and permissions for the app
- Look for the setting called “Bluetooth” and make sure it is toggled on (toggle button will be green when it is on) - if it is not on (toggle button is grey), then press the toggle button once to allow the SimpleSENCE app to use Bluetooth
If you have followed these directions and you are still seeing the message "No SimpleSENCE were detected", then follow this link to check if your mobile device is compatible:
